For the Great Year Two Thousand Twenty-Five
Miss Mary Asher Johnston has honored our krewe by becoming our Eighty-Fifth Queen Isis in our ninetieth year! Mary is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert McKnight Johnston, Jr. (Jean and Rob). Mary is a graduate of Hutchison School and is currently a sophomore at Auburn University, where she is majoring in Culinary Science and is on the Dean’s List. Mary is a member of Alpha Delta Pi sorority and Onward Fellowship. She currently serves as an Ambassador for the School of Hospitality at Auburn.
Queen Mary and her family have a deep history with Osiris and Carnival. Her grandmother, Mary McKinley Jennings, was a Lady of the Realm for Cotton Carnival in 1963; her mother, Mary Jean Jennings Johnston, was a Lady of the Realm for Carnival in 1993. Mary served as an Osiris page in 2010, Carnival page in 2015 and President’s Princess in 2024. Her sister, Ann Grier Johnston, served as an Osiris page in 2010, Carnival page in 2015 and is Princess to the Memphis Hunt & Polo Club. Her brothers, Warren and McKnight Johnston, served as Osiris pages in 2010 and Carnival Royal Scarabs in 2024. Mary and her siblings served on the Carnival Junior Court numerous times. Her father, Rob Johnston, is King Osiris LXX and President of Carnival in 2015.
We have fantastic events scheduled for the year, including:
- Red & White Royal Party (Easter Weekend)
- The Banner Party of Queen Isis LXXXV (Saturday, May 17th) at the Memphis Hunt & Polo Club (White Dinner Jacket)
- Children’s Party (Sunday Afternoon, June 1st)
- The Banquet of Past Kings and Carnival Court Reception (Friday, June 6th) at the Memphis Hunt & Polo Club
In addition to the Osiris events listed above, we are hoping to increase Osiris member participation in each of the following Carnival Memphis sponsored events this year:
- Business & Industry Salute Luncheon (Wednesday, February 19th) at Hilton Memphis
- St. Patrick’s Day Parade (Saturday, March 15th)
- Krewes for Kids (Friday, April 25th) at the Children’s Museum of Memphis
- Crown & Sceptre Coronation Ball (Friday, May 30th) at Hilton Memphis
- The Princess Ball (Saturday, May 31st)
- Carnival Cares Day (TBD)
